Tri-County Meals on Wheels is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, established in 1976 as Meals on Wheels of Palestine, Inc. We serve homebound seniors and disabled individuals throughout the 3,078 square miles of Anderson, Cherokee, and Rusk Counties in East Texas. From a modest beginning of 13 home delivered meals per day in our founding year, we now provide more than 280,000 meals annually through our home delivered and congregate programs. These meals reach our most vulnerable, food insecure seniors. The meals provide one-third of the recommended daily dietary requirements for seniors. For many clients, it is their only meal of the day.
